Simply Shopping: Birchbox

Happy Tuesday loves!

First things first, I’m running my 1st ever guest post at the Anna Delores Blog today! Go check it out and follow Emily while you’re at it! šŸ™‚

I thought I’d share a few thoughts about my monthly subscription to Birchbox. I’ve been subscribed since June of last year and while I love receiving such beautifully wrapped packages every month, their are a few downsides. Here are some shots of my last 3 boxes:

I was hoping to love the May Gossip Girl box since I love that show but it fell a little flat for me. Highlights of my year in Birchboxes did include a new obsession with Philosophy products, a full size Luxeffects Essie and my beloved twistbands. I’ve had some wonderful experiences with Birchbox customer service when a few items arrived damaged and they awarded me extra points which I used towards purchases. I also love collecting those adorable brown boxes they come in!

In about a year, I collected enough points to buy $80.00 worth of products. At $10 a month ($120 a year), I’ve discovered some great products I love (including a full size Essie, a Zoya I used for Mani Monday, a free Baublebar bracelet and more) so I’m undecided on canceling it (mostly in fear that the next box will be amazing). Gah, I’m also just terrified of change in general. Haha…

If you’re interested in Birchbox, you can sign up hereĀ .

Anyone else have experiences with Birchbox? I’ve heard of other services like Glossybox and Julep Maven and I’ve been tempted! Can anyone vouch for your personal preferences??

And just for repetition sake, don’t forget to stop by Emily’s blog today and check out my newest DIY! šŸ™‚

Happy Tuesday friends!

Full disclosure: If you sign up for Birchbox using the link above, I do receive credit. It just felt like something I should tell you! šŸ™‚

  1. I subscribe to both Birchbox and Glossybox. Birchbox has been hit or miss for me so far, but I’m holding out hope! I’ve kind of had a problem with the fact that there is food in some of the boxes, I just think that’s so weird. Glossybox I love. I would marry it. Seriously – it’s amazing. You get good size (travel size) luxury products each month and so far I’ve loved everything in both boxes! I highly suggest subscribing!

    • Haha the food did kinda weird me out. And frankly it wasn’t very good! You are totally selling me on Glossybox! Thanks SO much for your feedback Niki!!

      • You’re welcome! I am OBSESSED with Glossybox, but maybe Birchbox will be better for me this month! It’s waiting for me to open it right now, actually!

    • I mean, the best part is getting part of your money back to actually buy products. On top of getting samples! But every month, I do have to say I get a little disappointed I don’t like the samples more. Ah I’m torn! Haha

  2. Hmmm I’ve been trying to decide if birchbox is worth it or not, thanks for cluing me in on how great it is šŸ™‚

ps. Loved your diy chevron post on anna delores today!

    • Thanks so much for stopping by Shane and letting me know you liked the DIY! It means a lot šŸ™‚ And I mean I love birchbox for the fact you get points to buy full size products but I’m not ALWAYS happy with the samples I get. But I mean $10 a month, thats like just giving up 1 lunch or dinner a month!

  3. So cute! My sister is signed up for Birchbox and I think you justttt pushed me over the edge to sign up too šŸ™‚ Thanks for stopping by our little blog, love yours… can’t wait to read more! -L

    • Let me know how your sister likes it!! I want to know how other people feel about it too šŸ™‚ Thanks for stopping by, I’m excited to follow you ladies!

  4. i have birchbox and so far i like it. i actually ended up saving all my samples and bringing them to Rob’s place so I have some “beauty” supplies when I’m getting ready at his place! Haha. Thanks for introducing me to Glossybox. Now I’m in danger.
