Mani Monday: Baseball Nails

Hey there!

So I was having such a great weekend in SF until I realized…my wallet was gone. Sunday after brunch, we were headed to the Alemany Flea Market when I peek into my purse and realize my wallet is missing. We retraced all our steps  from the point I remember having it (Umami Burger, Muka Wine Bar, the hotel and San Jalisco for brunch) but no luck. I was SO upset. Especially because the LAST place I lost my license was San Francisco a year ago so SF has claimed 2 of my licenses! Bah humbug. Our last hope is Muka which isn’t open Sun or Mon, so Tuesday at 6 pm we’ll be calling just to check! But my hopes are low.  😦 Besides that SF, was wonderful and I’ll probably be recapping it later this week.

Luckily for me, I have my passport to serve as ID for my flight to Utah tonight. I’m excited to be on vacation for the next 6 days but the loss of my wallet will definitely hang over my head a little. I’m going to try to shake it off as best I can since there’s likely nothing I can do about it! I’m also a little nervous because this is my longest flight by myself and I don’t really like doing anything solo. But I will be cheering my brother and his team on in Utah, so I decided last night to do a festive accent nail for Mani Monday!

Essie: Peach Daquiri for the nails and Target: Sinful Colors for the baseball

First of all, I must give credit where credit is due so let it be known that Rob helped me with this manicure! I was feeling frustrated with the red stitching and honestly this was probably the 7th time I put the white base on but I love how it turned out! Turns out he has quite the steady hand! Haha I swear the things I ask that poor man to do, he is a SAINT. He’ll probably be sorry that he let me in on his nail art skills.

I’ve also grown quite partial to the SUPER cheap Sinful Colors section at Target. The nail polishes are only $1.99 and the white was actually really thick and covered well. I’ll definitely be buying more of those for nail art and accent nail colors!

Happy Monday!

How was your weekend? Mine was a little uneventful, which at the time was what I wanted but I kinda wish I had done a little more with my weekend. I think that’s how I always feel when it’s my time of the month. Generally unfulfilled. Haha…

Did you get a chance to read the fabulous guest post from my friend Maša yesterday?

Hope you have a great start to your week!

Mani Monday: Set in Stones

Happy Monday everyone!

Every once in awhile, something comes along that just rocks your world. For me? Essie’s Set in Stones! Fact about me: I have slight OCD tendencies and I like to have just one brand of everything. So prior to this Essie, I only bought OPIs. But Set in Stones was too good to pass up and I love it! It’s the perfect glitter for accent nail or for doing a glitter french manicure. Snag one today!

Color: OPI Argenteeny Pinkini/ Glitter: Essie Set in Stones

The best part of this mani is that when you start chipping, its super easy to just paint the tips again with Set in Stones. And it doesn’t require a lot of precision either! Good for a starter mani for sure.

Mani Monday: Cheetah Print

Happy Monday readers!

Sorry I’ve been on an epic hiatus, I know the standard procedure is to beg amazing bloggers to write guest posts in an absence but as you can see by my entries prior to vacation, my life was in complete disarray beforehand. Anyhoot, I hope you all had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend and weekend after!

As I am still editing photos from vacation, I thought it’d be fun to join in with a Mani Monday linky with the two lovely Heathers from Just Love.ly and Glitter and Gloss (which I found via the amazing Emily’s Anna Delores Blog). As I post this right now, I thought it was funny that Heather also featured Cheetah Print from My Name is Kristy. Great minds think alike huh?

The colors I used were a mini Zoya called Shay (which I got in my Birchbox) and one of my all time faves, OPI Mermaid tears (and a random black nail art). I find myself gravitating towards cream and mint green together lately! Any colors you’re currently diggin?

Join the linky party on Just Love.ly and Glitter and Gloss!

Aside from all the good feelings I get from newly mani-ed fingers, I’m actually feeling quite under the weather. Part of my 9-5 job includes attending child births of women enrolled in my study and I drove 2 hours away and back late Saturday night, and didn’t get home until 1:30 am. Then when I finally got home, I had a terrible case of insomnia so a lack of sleep has driven my body into shut down mode. Needless to say I’m suckin down Halls cough drops like nobody’s business! Any other remedies for a sore throat/cold/congestion that you can think of?

Hope you have a wonderful start to your week! Come back soon to see pics of my whirlwind trip to SoCal 🙂
