Loving Lately: Sweaters

Happy Tuesday everyone!

Despite my undying love for dresses and sandals, I can’t HELP but feel so excited about fall fashion lately. My mind is constantly thinking about my fall sweaters and cardigans. I decided to link up with the lovely ladies CarlyKristenNiki & Rachel for Loving Lately and I need to purchase these stat!

Sweater Love

Link up today!

I’m feeling a little anxious for fall because my birthday is coming up. Another year older, le sigh. And even more of a reason to get my bee-hind in shape (who knows when wedding bells will ring 😉 ).

Yesterday, I went to a “Hot Hula” class at the gym for the first time. I actually used to do Hula and Tahitian in high school so I was like “no prob, just an easy workout to ease myself back in.” WRONG. Within the first 5 minutes, my quads were on fire. I remember hula being a decent workout but my hip joints definitely don’t have the flexibility they used to. It was a challenge and my back does hurt a little this morning from popping out my bootay (lol) but overall, I feel good.

Also, Rob and I watched The Vow yesterday and I liked it! Everyone knows Channing Tatum is a hot piece of man candy but I wasn’t entirely sure about his acting skills in a chick flick (and no I haven’t seen Dear John yet). Anyways, I was pleasantly surprised and it definitely got Rob and I conversing about what we would regret most if something tragic happened to us tomorrow. I was overjoyed to hear his answer was the same as mine (I’ll leave you to wonder what that was). It’s silly but sometimes even a romantic movie can make you suddenly feel very lucky to have everything you do.

Lol (I could find a good source but here’s where I got it)

Do you love sweaters as much as I do? Have you seen The Vow? How do you feel about Channing Tatum’s acting chops?

Have a great day everyone!

Me, Myself & I Link Up: Part Deux

Happy Tuesday everyone!

So it’s that time again, the monthly link up with Me, Myself and I!

1. What would you attempt to do if you knew you could not fail?
I’d start my party planning/wedding planning business. I would just dive straight into it right now. I hope someday I give it a shot but for now, a steady income is what I need to get my life started. It’s always good to have a dream.
2. If you had only six months left to live, what would you do with the time?
Write a really detailed will (making sure ALL my money goes to my family, unfortunately to probably take care of student loans which don’t get forgiven), spend all of my remaining time with my closest family and friends, eating and vacationing to my heart’s content. Dessert every night, duh. I’m both practical and impractical at the same time.

3. If a front page news article was written on you, what would the headline be?
23-year-old blogger bursts into tears upon meeting childhood crush, The Backstreet Boys.
Lol Wanna hear a true story? While brainstorming with Rob about my headline, I literally laugh/cried when I came up with this one. Not sure if they were tears at laughing at myself or if I was seriously picturing myself meeting them and the tears were real….

4. What is your biggest pet peeve?
When people don’t know the difference between your and you’re. It physically hurts me, like my soul aches. Especially when it’s in social media, EVERYONE can see that people cmon!
5. What is your favorite chick flick movie?
Gotta be The Notebook. Reason #5,928,320: Ryan Gosling and his hilarious memes
My very first Ryan Gosling Meme! But definitely not my last. lol

Beauty Box Swap Reveal

Blabbering Thoughts

So I participated in the lovely Beauty Box swap with MeganTiffany, and Andrea and I was given the lovely Heather to purchase for. Looking through her blog, she seemed to be a minimalist when it came to beauty products (I was dying to buy her a nail polish but she said she couldn’t paint her fingernails!) but she mentioned wanting the pedicure strips. I figured I would send her some of my favorite things so I love using NYX sticks as a primer or eye color and I’m a total sucker for these twistband-like hairties. I hope Heather liked them!

I received this adorably packaged gift from Audrey and I’m so excited to have a travel size version of High beam! The Essie color is such a great neutral too! 🙂 Thanks Audrey, I love it!

I promise someday I’ll stop blogging about myself and all my fun package exchanges and I’ll get back to a DIY or recipe soon! But I honestly hope you don’t mind getting to know me better. 🙂

What are your favorite Ryan Gosling memes? What’s your biggest pet peeve?

Have a great day!

Farewell to the Olympics and Me in a Nutshell

Happy Monday everyone!

First of all, I loooooooved the Olympics this year. Something about London, the athletes, it was just 17 days of PURE magic. And last night watching the special features on the U.S. athletes during the closing ceremony had me on the verge of tears. I was especially moved by the total show of GIRL POWER in the Olympics this year, from Missy Franklin to Sanya to Misty and Kerri and the 5 AMAZING Gymnastics ladies, it was a year to celebrate for women. It gets me choked up just thinking about it.

Way to go U.S. and way to go ladies! Thanks for proving that the U.S. isn’t just about Teen Mom or Toddlers and Tiaras.

(which for the record, I do watch…womp womppp)

But my world was ROCKED by the Spice Girls in all their glory. 9-year-old Evani was in hysterics, remembering my 5 pairs of platform Sketchers and the endless number of peace signs I raised in all my elementary school photos. If Wannabe isn’t a girl power anthem, I don’t know what one is?! Sure there’s a few nonsensical words thrown in there (zig-a-zig-ah?) but it’s all about girls sticking together and how important friendship is between women. How much time do we spend criticizing each other, gossiping or even worse, stealing men from each other?! I think the we need the Spice Girls now, more than ever time to make another CD!!

#PleaseSpiceGirlsPlease, I’m clearly not too proud to beg….

Oh mah gahhh they looked AMAZING: Source

Bravo to London for hosting an amazing Olympic run, truly well done. Do we really have to wait 4 years for the next summer Olympics, how will I survive?!

Thank God Shark Week is up next, it might help me through the mourning process.

Today I decided to link up with one of my favorite blogs, Lovely Little Things. Weekly, Jessica announces a task to help us stop and smell the roses, a.k.a. appreciate the little things! Today’s task was to create a collage of things that represent you.

Lovely Little Things
These are all things that I feel define who I am in this point in life! The most important things are on top, definitely with my Family being the biggest part of who I am. The picture of Passions is of my cake pops, and symbolizes my dream of maybe starting my own party/event planning business someday! It might be something I just do on the side for fun or while I pop out babies, but there it is. I have a million other goals in life but it’s nice to have a dream that includes what you love to do!

How was your weekend loves? What defines you?

Better yet, are you a Spice Girls fan (and if you are, we can be BFFs!)?!

Friday Letters: Olympics, PLL and Football

Happy Friday everyone!

Every week I cling to the fact that there IS a Friday and hallelujah for that! I took a mini bloggy break yesterday (because who really reads my blog daily 😉 ) and I have to say, it was lovely. I don’t want to blog just to fill up space so I’m going to shy away from writing entries that I’m not invested in. So that means hopefully more high quality entries at the risk of less entries overall. What do you think? Do you expect bloggers to blog daily?

On to Friday Letters!

Dear Olympics, YOU ROCK. I cannot believe how much I enjoy watching everything, even if I’m hours behind. Women’s gymnastics is my FAVE. Makes me want to attempt a cartwheel and fail miserably.

Dear Shay Mitchell, why are you so unbelievably beautiful?! I swear I watch Pretty Little Liars just to stare at you and Lucy Hale. That and because I cannot leave a mystery unsolved (I hate love myself a little for starting this series).

Dear luggage from Utah, unpack yourself, will ya? I’m so overwhelmed with the idea of unpacking you.

Dear Rob, one of the millions of reasons I love you is that you buy all the practical things I’d never own without you. This Mini DisplayPort (girls say whaaaat?) has made my blogging/netflix-watching a million times better. It turned my desktop monitor into a 2nd screen for my MacBook Pro = life changing.

Dear Blog friends, thank you for adding to my life in a wonderful way. Every comment, e-mail and tweet means so much to me and I might be driving you crazy with all the thank yous but I mean every single one!

Dear French Fries, we’re through. Despite my extreme love of everything you are, I’m quitting you for August. I know its only a small token of friendship I can offer to my health but it must be done. And for the record, it’s not me, it’s you… you and your golden goodness.

Dear Football season, let’s go! 33 days and counting… Ordering my Peyton Manning jersey ASAP. This is my dream season and I can’t wait! Any other football lovin girls out there??

Link up with Friday letters here!

Have a great weekend everyone!

Christmas in July Reveal

Happy Thursday ya’ll!

So this month I decided to be adventurous and join a few blog gift exchanges. I’m a big fan of Alyx over at Everyday is a New Adventure (seriously watch her vlogs, she’s hilarious) so I decided to join in with Christmas in July. We filled out a brief questionnaire and off we were to buy for our partners. Today, I’m happy to share the wonderful gift I got from Dawn over at Vapid Vixen!

First off, I LOVE these colors. It’s like Dawn just knew. The Essie Luxeffects Shine of the Times was the only Luxeffects I didn’t own. The pink Peach Daquiri is the color I’m wearing in the last Mani Monday too (the color other than the baseballs, obvi).

Secondly, this gift exchange completely made me love learning about Dawn and reading her unbelievably witty blog. She’s an office prankster, outdoorsy lady who loves picking fights with gym owners. She’s even punched a man in the stomach and caused internal bleeding (and made it totally funny to read about). Her razor sharp sarcasm is all that and a bag of chips and I guarantee, she will have you cracking up in no time. Plus she clearly has a knack for choosing nail polish colors.

I love the idea of gift exchanges, they’re a really fun way to get to know other bloggers and just to get some new swag! Do you do any gift exchanges? Have you really enjoyed any of them?! Share please! 🙂

In case you’re wondering for some vague reason, my brother and his team nabbed win #3 today! One more win tomorrow and they’re in the championship for Regionals!

Come back tomorrow for a yummy post! 😉

Have a great day!

P.S. I tried with ALL my might to respond to all your wonderful comments but I didn’t realize how far BACK I was having to comment on. I’m sorry for not staying current! I’m super sorry if I didn’t/don’t respond back to your comment from posts a week or  2 weeks ago, I just don’t know how relevant it will be anymore. I promise I will try to stay more current with it! Please e-mail me if you wanted an urgent response from me and if I completely failed to get back to you! I am a fail whale.
