To Get Over The Hump

Happy Wednesday Loves!

I’m not sure what to blame, the shorter amount of daytime or the start of a school year but I’ve been reading about a general sadness, feelings of being overwhelmed and exhaustion among some of my favorite bloggers. I know there are days when I get into a slump and days when I’m completely dragged into a slump by something or someone but I thought today would be a good day for some Pinspiration. Pinterest is one of my favorite things to turn to when I need a little quote to put a pep in my step and these are some of my favorites:

From Top Right moving Clockwise Source: 1/2/3/4/5/6/

I know there are days when you read quotes like this and you’re like “psh, who believes this load of bull” but I hope you’re having one of those days where you read these and you’re like “that’s exactly what I needed today”. If there’s anything I can do to liven up your day, week or month, I’d love to do anything I can.

On a quick sidenote, I think I’ve got roughly 5 ladies on board for fantasy football and I’d love to add in 3 more! Let me know if you’re interested in giving fantasy football a try (I promise it’s not that hard!).

How have you been feeling lately? What quotes do you turn to for inspiration or to get you out of a funk?

Hope you survive the hump friends!

Pin-spiration: Life quotes

Happy Sunday everyone!

I’m going to be upfront with you, I’m not in the habit of doing my blog entries ahead of time (I know, I can hear the gasps of horror already!) So here I am, writing my weekend entry on a Sunday night. Forgive me yet? (In case you can’t tell, I’m batting my eyelashes and attempting to look adorable!)

I’ve been thinking a lot lately, about where I’m headed and what I want to do with my life. I’m turning 24 this year (eek) and I’ve been working full time at an amazing stater job since I graduated 2 years ago but I figured I would just know what I wanted to do with my life at this point. And I know the uncertainty is actually really good, it means I have options and I’m open to a lot of exciting possibilities (thanks to a Boy Meets World episode that taught me that haha). But I’m not one for leaving the future unplanned, it’s just freakin me out a little. So here’s some Pinterest inspiration that I’ve been using to remind myself that uncertainty is healthy.

I got the idea for Pin-spiration from one of my blogger friends Nicole over at Treasure Tromp. Check out her blog and her Pin-spirations, she has such a lovely blog!!

Found pin via Lauren but original source unknown 😦

Found pin via Sabrina but the photo links back to Style Me Pretty

Found pin via Brenna, I’m completely obsessed with this print from this Etsy shop!

Found pin via Jacqueline but original source unknown 😦

Found pin via Anne but original source unknown 😦

Anyone else grappling with uncertainty? I know in my heart, it will all work itself out but it’s just allowing fate to take you there that is difficult for me. For those of you established in life, what was the turning point when you realized “This is where I’m supposed to be”? Anyone else have good quotes they rely on to soothe growing pains?

Follow me on Pinterest if you’re interested!

I hope you all had wonderful weekends! Did you do anything exciting?

P.S. If you know ANY of the sources of the prints listed above, please let me know! I’d LOVE to credit them directly.

Happy Friday readers!

So I was having a mild panic attack yesterday about my lack of preparation with our coming vacation and the fact I didn’t have every second planned out and everything ready. Yes, you can gasp in surprise, I AM an A-type personality. I tried with all my might to get a REAL entry done for today but I ended up feeling overwhelmed with preparations for Saturday morning. So here is proof of my insanity, this is everything I need to get done TODAY (did I also mention what a huge procrastinator I am?)

So I have these dreams of being BFF with Joy Cho of Oh Joy, Bri Emery of DesignLovefest and Bonnie Tsang of Bonnie Tsang Blog because they are blogging goddesses and they are ALWAYS instagramming amazing food from LA. I found most of the LA foodie destinations on our list via Joy in this blog entry: Top 20 bites of 2011 in LA.

We’ll be gone until a week from today! Are there any other recommendations you have for LA? Any good craft/paper/vintage stores you recommend?

I take so many trips that I’m thinking of making a re-usable packing list, so maybe that’ll show up on my blog in the near future!

Also shout out to Katrine over at Make it & Fake it! I won a giveaway over at her amazing DIY site and I can’t wait to receive my Swarovoksi elements style magazine! I’ll be crafting it up once I get it, thats for sure.

Thanks Katrine!!

Here are some Weekend reading/DIYs:

Make a cropped knit via Harpers Bazaar and A Pair & A Spare.

Diggin the blog Penny Chic by Shauna, love the styling of this Convertible shirt.

Because you know I love anything in the teal color palette.

For an easy laugh.

And a parting print for the weekend. My life relates to this SO much lately.

Source unknown 😦 I found it on a tumblr but if anyone knows where this is from, let me know! I’d love to credit it.

Happy Memorial Day Weekend everyone!

Favorites Friday: Words to Live by

I’ve been contemplating a lot of life decisions lately, spanning from Grad school to homebuying and wedding saving. I know that for a lot of people, 22 (soon to be 23, eek!) is early to be thinking of these things but planning is an inherent part of who I am. And there’s nothing more disappointing that feeling unprepared. As my old ASB adviser Grivel would say, “Prior Planning Prevents Piss Poor Performance!” Thinking of how this quote has surprisingly following me from homecoming planning to life planning, I thought this Friday would be a great time to share other quotes I’ve felt inspired by lately.

Favorites Friday : Words to Live By

1. The Road – I love reading this quote when I’m confused about what I want to do in life or who I want to be.2. The Work You Do – This quote always makes wonder what it’d be like to give up the job search and take a leap of faith.3.  Not easy – I can feel this being applied to life, love, work, anything!

4. Love – Too many people in mediocre relationships need to know that this love is possible.

5. Thankful – This quote always puts life into perspective.

Happy Friday everyone! Have an awesome weekend.
